Also known as Gum Disease, Periodontitis is a serious gum infection that damages the soft tissue around teeth. Left untreated, it can destroy the bone that supports your teeth which can lead to teeth loosening or complete loss of the tooth.

Although periodontitis is common, it is not only treatable, but preventable. Gum disease develops when the mouth is not properly taken care of. Basic hygiene steps such as brushing twice a day and flossing can go a long way in preventing the development of Periodontitis.
